Capital Region Medical Center Partners

President Marlene Vogler called the board of directors meeting April 27 to order.

Norma Lenon, recording secretary, presented the March minutes, which were approved. Bob Crede, treasurer, presented the March report, which was approved. He reported sales of chances for the quilt were going very well. Chris Carr, assistant treasurer, presented the gift shop report, which was approved.

Audrey Hoffman, corresponding secretary, sent 25 birthday cards and two get-well cards to volunteers and sympathy cards to families of two deceased life members. Donations were made to the scholarship fund in their honor. Judith Guthrie, first vice-president, reported that the silver jewelry sale went well. Other sales will be: Tastefully Simple gourmet foods, May 18; Candle Shops of America, May 24 and Jewelry id Fun, June 29-30.

Janella Frissel, second vice-president, reported that the Easter basket and bake sale was a success. The geranium and super petunia sale will be held May 7, 7:30 a.m., in front of Capital Region Medical Center. The quilt drawing will also be held.

Dorothy Gieck, membership committee chair, reported we have 356 membership renewals. Donations to the scholarship fund have been good. Partners has 172 lifetime members. Sarah Krull, marketing committee chair, asked for items for the Partners Update newsletter.

Janelle Fischer-Schulte, scholarship committee chair, reported that fourteen scholarships had been awarded, eight to hospital employees and six to non-employees. Mary Ann Hyleck, employee relations committee chair, reported that the committee provided candy to employees at both campuses plus the 13 clinics in April. The cafeterias will be decorated in May with art from East Elementary School.


Teddie Farnsworth, gift shop manager, reported that sales were good. There will be a jewelry sale May 4. Carl Jaynes, WHALE project chair, reported on the kickoff May 1. Carr and Hyleck, co-chairs, announced there will be a life members brunch at the Madison campus, June 11, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Rose Mays, volunteer services manager, announced plans are progressing for the Fall Festival, Oct. 2.

Vogler announced the Breast Health Awareness project in March and April was a success. The board of directors voted to give a donation to the CRMC Relay for Life team. Vogler announced the District 3 MAHA meeting will be in Mexico at Audrain Medical Center, May 18. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Mays at 632-5032.
