Eagles Auxiliary

President Sharon Morgan called the meeting to order and roll call revealed Barb Groner absent.

She had a sick baby.

Mary Ann Boillot motioned seconded by Betty Beckham to excuse her. Motion carried. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Application were from: Francoise Williams, Pat Cordry, Shelly Culley, Sherri Briese, Edi Lambert, Nadine Surface, Nikki Block and a transfer from Martha Russell. There were no interviews.

Letha Edlen, seconded by Sandra Siebeneck, motioned to pay bills. Motion carried. Beckham reported organizing gifts for the adopted family. Cards were sent to Vivian Balkenbusch, Violet Meyers and Marion Nichols. Cookie trays will be put together after the meeting.

The Alzheimer's dinner is Jan. 14. See Siebeneck if you can help. The steak dinner and silent auction will be Jan. 7. Contact Leslie Franklin or Linda Schmutz for tickets or donations for the auction. Thanks to Wilma Harris and Peggy Puckett for a good job on the Christmas party.

Anna Mae Schaefer motioned, seconded by Alline Whitener, to donate $1,000 toward installing a lift that will be used to get to the second floor. After discussion a decision was made to ear mark the funds and give it to the Aerie after the lift is installed. Motion carried.


Boillot asked why a sympathy card was not sent to Laverne Sanders on the death of her mother. A card was sent to his wife for the entire family. Discussion was held. It is too hard to get a card to every member in the family of a member of the Auxiliary.

There was no unfinished business.

Barb Diemler won the 50/50 drawing. Mary Pointer, who was not present, won the capsule drawing. The next amount will be $340. Lavauna Moore, Betty J. Bernskoetter and Donna Elliott fed the birthday bank.

There was no new business.

Bette Rovik gave a detailed trustees report on their talk with the men. The report is in the Trustees book. The secretary and treasurer gave reports.

Edlen reminded everyone of the anniversary dinner, Jan. 22. Member come for free. Guests are $7.50 per person. Schaefer asked about the Snowman Igloo on the float. After discussion it was decided to keep it until the Christmas Bazaar and raffle it. Franklin needs help with Christmas parties. New Year's Day bingo doors will open at 10:30 a.m., meal will be served at 11 a.m. and bingo begins at 2 p.m.

The Auxiliary won the District 3 plaque in November in California.

Meeting adjourned. The next meeting will be Jan. 5.
