The following are items of interest about Jefferson City area businesses and business people.

KEN GIESING, RONNIE MEHMERT, MAGGIE ALLDREDGE, ALAN WHEAT, RALPH MCELVAIN, MARY BONNOT, ALLEN HOLLANDER, HEATHER WILSON, LORRAINE ADKINS, DOUG PUCKETT, MONICA SCHMITZ, DEAN GUNTER, DARICE STARK, JANIS BURGIN, DARREL GORDON, and JEFF STRICKLAND, Coldwell Banker, attended a National Salesperson training program hosted by Meredith Oliver, Orlando, Fla., entitled, "Five Strategies to Supercharge Your Real Estate Career in 2005."




LESLIE PRENGER, marketing director, and JASON LEMASTER, lead restoration technician, AERODRY Disaster Restoration, attended the "Mobile Hands-On" Water Damage Restoration Technician school in St. Louis.

The three-day course was given by Barry Costa, nationally known author and trainer to the restoration industry. Topics included water damage restoration, equipment and chemicals, carpet identification and psycrometry, procedures for handling a water loss, content restoration and mold.

This was a required course towards IICRC certification.





ROBERT G. HACKMAN, LUTCF, financial services manager, Winter-Dent and Company, qualified for membership in the 2005 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and Court of the Table (COT.)

He is a qualifying and life member with 14 year of membership in MDRT and a sixth-time qualifier in COT.

The Million Dollar Round Table provides its members with resources to improve their technical knowledge, sales and client service while maintaining a culture of high ethical standards. More than 29,000 life insurance and financial services professionals from 76 nations and territories are members.




JESSICA BRINK, Jefferson City, attended the Tastefully Simple "Let's Party" regional conference in Chicago, and was named one of the top 10 sales achievers of 2004. She is an independent consultant for the national direct sales company which sells upscale, convenience driven gourmet foods.




KEN THOENEN, broker, and MARGARET THOENEN, broker/salesperson, of Ken Thoenen Homes, Inc., and Action Realty of Jefferson City, are celebrating 20 years in business in a new office.

Ken Thoenen graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 with a degree in finance and real estate.

The new office is located at 1119 Big Horn Drive.




CHRIS WOOD joined Jefferson Bank Residential Lending Center as a loan representative. Wood has a background in loan origination, loan procession and loan closings.

He is a Jefferson City native, a 2000 graduate of South Callaway High School and an army veteran, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan.

Wood and his wife, Jill, have one son, Ty Michael.




JUDY LANDWEHR joined Smith, Moore and Company as vice-president and financial advisor in the Jefferson City office.

She is a graduate of St. Mary University, Leavenworth, Kan., and holds Series 7 and 63 Securities licenses as well as life and health insurance licenses.

The St. Louis investment firm, founded in 1913, expanded to Jefferson City in May 2004

It offers full service to both institutional and individual investors.




MARK WADLEY and ROGER SULLENS, Vaughan Pools and Spas, completed the 2005 BioGuard¨ ChemPlus School.

Wadley, sales professional, and Sullens, service technician, attended the two-day school in Kansas City

The school combined technical training with interactive sessions and case studies to help increase knowledge of the use of products to keep pools and spas clean.

The latest technical advancements were highlighted.

Vaughan Pools and Spas has five retail locations in Mid-Missouri.
