Chamber committee to host FMLA seminar

A seminar on the Family Medical Leave Act will be presented by the Human Resources committee of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce.

The seminar will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the lower level of Premier Bank, 300 Ellis Blvd. Mamie Holt, a wage and hour investigator from the Wage and Hour Division of the U. S. Dept. of Labor, will be the presenter.

To register, contact Dana Struemph by phone at 638-3589, via fax at 634-3805 or by e-mail at danastruemph@jcchamber.org. You can also register online at www.jeffersoncitychamber.org. Registrations must be completed by Tuesday.

The fee is $25 for members and $35 for non-members and includes lunch.

Topics to be covered include employer coverage, employee eligibility, leave entitlement, employee notice requirements, employer responsibilities, maintenance of benefits, job restoration, enforcement, special rules and Family and Medical Leave Act and National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2008.
