Health and Workers Comp seminar set

A seminar on health and workers compensation insurance is scheduled from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, 213 Adams St.

Objectives include providing an alternative method to control spiraling health insurance costs in a business; determining who is required to carry the insurance and understanding coverage; identifying fraud and non-compliance; and providing ways to reduce on-the-job injuries.

This seminar is for all business and property owners, lenders, CPAs, real estate brokers, attorneys, and anyone interested in learning about workers compensation insurance.

Dan Mehan, director Missouri Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Buker, director Missouri Division of Worker's Compensation; Jason Woods, physical therapist and clinical supervisor, Capital Region Medical Center; Robert Look, P.E., retired engineering professor; Central, Hawthorn and Jefferson Banks and the University of Missouri's Small Business Development Center will instruct and facilitate the seminar.

The fee is $20 for the two-hour seminar which includes light lunch and soft drinks. Registration is available at the door if space allows, but will not include lunch, only soft drinks.
