JC lawyer pleads guilty to bringing drugs to jail

A Jefferson City lawyer has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with bringing drugs into the Cole County Jail in October 2012.

Court documents filed Tuesday show Thomas Robbins, 34, pleaded guilty to charges in two separate cases. The charges include two counts of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, driving while revoked, moving a vehicle when unsafe and delivery of a controlled substance to a jail.

Information filed by Camden County Prosecutor Brian Keedy, named special prosecutor for these cases, shows Robbins possessed methamphetamine for the purpose of delivering it to an inmate at the jail.

A sentencing date has not been set.
