Your Opinion: Obama's failure; Nixon's comment

Dear Editor:

Obama has given us another reason to compare him to Jimmy Carter. Remember Operation Eagle Claw? It was the failed mission, under Carter, to rescue hostages in Iran.

Now we have Obama advertising being in charge of the failed attempt to rescue hostages in the mid-East. After Bin Laden was killed we heard from Obama:

"I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda."

"I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice."

"... at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Pakistan."

I wonder when Obama will give a speech taking "credit" for his decisions concerning the failed rescue attempt.

In another vein, it was interesting to see that Gov. Nixon has abandoned concepts such as "justice being blind" or a "presumption of innocence" for Missourians. I base this on his desire to "pursue a vigorous prosecution" of Officer Wilson, prior Officer Wilson even being indicted.

By the way, he read these comments off a teleprompter, don't think this was simply a poor choice of wording.
