St. Louisan charged with assault, threats

A St. Louis man has been charged in connection with an assault in Jefferson City.

Court documents show Anthony Curry, 20, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and tampering with a witness.

The incident occurred Tuesday at a residence in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street.

Curry allegedly assaulted a female by grabbing her hair, wrapping her hair in his hand to get a grip and then hitting her head against a wall in the kitchen. When officers arrived on the scene, Curry told the victim that if she was the one who called police he would "get out and kill her."

Officers said they noticed a mark on the victim's neck where she had been hit with a child's toy.

The victim later told police that Curry has connections to both Jefferson City and St. Louis and if he gets out of jail or prison she will "disappear."

A friend of the victim told authorities that Curry had come to her house a few days before this incident and grabbed the victim and dragged her out of the house.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Curry was being held on $250,000 bond in the Cole County Jail.
