Probation granted after June vandalism

A Jefferson City woman charged in connection with vandalism at Countryside Park in Taos in June was placed on five years supervised probation.

Stephanie Fowler, 35, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, second-degree burglary and second-degree property damage.

According to a Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement, the park manager reported copper and power cords had been cut from an air-conditioning unit in the park building.

The lock on the shed attached to the park building had been cut, and two gas cans were taken. The door to the concession stand had also been damaged.

Another report was made of damage to a ball field at the park. Power cables and coaxial cables had been cut from the scoreboard.

Fowler and another person admitted to deputies that they went to the park and committed the vandalism.

She said they went home and stripped and burned the wires so they could obtain the copper from inside them.
