Your Opinion: Questions to ponder

Dear Editor

What would happen if everyone started to speak up with what they believe is wrong? In our schools, work, neighborhoods, etc. Speak up even if it's in policy to or not to do, or even ask questions about things?

What if there was not child support for unwed parents or even no money exchanged at all in married couples everything split in the middle in most cases? Would young ladies start respecting their bodies and make better choices?

What would happen if there were no more evil criminals that are to be locked up for life, or given death penalty and still be here 10, 20 years down the road? Why not do away with the evil. Our moms, dads, brothers or sisters risking their lives taking care of these people that have killed, tortured the innocent. Put that money towards our hardworking citizens, our schools, our roads, the list goes on. What about "freebies"? Are we enabling way too much? Are people expecting everyone else to care for them to where they quit trying to provide for themselves? There is one thing if you need it but there is a lot of people that don't know how to provide for themselves because it is given to them anyways, even though they can work and earn money.

For our schools, how come we need the government telling us what our kids need? Can't we figure that out better ourselves, as state, city or community. What about sterilizing our drug addicts? Would that help the problem of what we see in our courts, hospitals, and schools? When did our teachers, police officers and adults lose the respect they once had and deserve?

Does anyone else believe we are letting "the big guys" think for us? God gave us a mind and if we don't start using it there is a big group of people that are going to keep doing what they they are doing and run us down further that where we are now!

Speak up. I know there is like-minded people out there and can change things if you quit being silent.

Being silent is giving your okay. Now is the time. Election time is almost here; research what and who we have the privilege to vote on.
