Drug bust lands JC man on probation

A Jefferson City man has been placed on five years supervised probation in connection with a marijuana operation that was busted last November.

Kraig Walker, 35, of 104 Manilla St., pleaded guilty to a charge of one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Authorities had found out a package that was to go to Walker's home had arrived at the Jefferson City FedEx facility and was later found to have 8 ounces of marijuana inside.

Authorities set up delivery to the home, and they eventually moved in and conducted a search of the residence.

Walker was found in the garage opening the package.

The package, a digital scale and plastic bags used to package narcotics were seized.

A search of a cell phone uncovered text messages, which authorities said were consistent with marijuana sales. The messages from Walker advised customers they were waiting for the marijuana and would have it to sell soon.
