City launches new website

Jefferson City has a new website that launched this week at a new domain name, jeffersoncitymo.gov.

The new site replaces one that was built in-house with limited resources in 2006.

For the new site, the city paid $17,200 for the initial sales agreement with Revize, a company out of Troy, Michigan, that specializes in government websites, as well as another $2,200 for the "micro-site" used by the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

The city pays Revize an annual hosting fee of $3,600 for the new site.

The new site features a "transparency portal" that lists contact information for staff and elected officials, meeting information and agendas, as well as financial documents and salary grade information.
