Dear Editor:
Recently a novice contributor to your opinion page had the audacity to call scribbler Jim Dyke out for his "vitriolic" cartoons.
It didn't take long for the "usual suspects" (elder screed contributors) to rise to the bait and bash her for stating the obvious. I suspect uppity newcomer Ms. Gibson has learned a valuable lesson; e.g., "Never "rassle' with a pig. It makes the pig real happy and you get all dirty."
I agree with her. We do indeed live in a scenic but graceless little city. Our sewers flow (and sometimes overflow) with a putrid conservative ideology. It's time for a liberal flush. If this seems severe to the casual reader of our opinion page, spend more time reading it; but take a deep breath first.
