Your Opinion: Revise policy for "adults' and interns

Dear Editor:

On some level I appreciate the Legislature's bipartisan approach to instituting a new policy for Capitol interns that prohibits fraternization, but revising a rule book for students whose brains are still developing and thus still prone to bad decision-making probably isn't going to fix the problem that exists in that building and has for decades.

Until men and women in positions of power can learn to curb their appetites for extra-curricular activity, telling a 19-year-old not to "fraternize" just makes the forbidden fruit that much more appealing.

A more laudable approach might be developing a policy for the "adults" in this environment.
