Your Opinion: Stop influx of Mideast refugees

Dear Editor:

The acceptance of some refugees does not constitute penitence for the death and destruction caused by U.S. government foreign policies supporting actions that generated the said refugees. Many of the refugees could be motivated terrorist sleepers. Corrective action by changing U.S. foreign policies and/or controlling government agencies must be made to stop such blowback in the future.

The total number of refugees the administration has committed to receiving is unclear. It would seem that U.S. government politicians have very short memories or they do not learn from history and thus they continue to allow U.S. supported clandestine agencies and the military to continue to destabilize governments around the world often by illegal means. The U.S. Congress has done little or nothing to stop the process. The Mideast has experienced misguided and illegal U.S. policies over the past 40 years and the results are similar to those experienced in Southeast Asia.

The U.S. receipt of the refugees from the Mideast constitutes a direct threat to the United States. Many of the former Baathists that were purged from the Iraqi government by the U.S. became part of the ISIS movement. I have examined many photos and videos of the refugees and a high percentage of them appear to be physically fit military age men of unknown background. Conducting background checks on them is a farce.

The U.S. government has created an organization for the purpose of finding new residences and jobs for these refugees such that they can assimilate into the culture of the U.S. However, there are tens of thousands of U.S. citizens that currently either do not have residences and/or jobs that would appreciate the same consideration. It would seem to be a form of discrimination to provide these new arrivals with services that are denied U.S. citizens. The U.S. has a large number of citizens that fit the description of refugees within its borders.

It would appear there is a path for legal resources in that the new refugees are being given preferential treatment based on ethnic background, which would be a violation of law. I look to my state legislators to do their utmost to prevent the patriation of the new refugees into Missouri.
