Jefferson City has a new option for venues to host weddings, meetings and events in Windstone Entertainment.

In a building that's nightclub-turned entertainment hall, Windstone Entertainment widens the limited options in the area just west of the Capitol at 2425 Industrial Drive.

Owners Charles Stone and Oanh Nguyne hope to have the venue up and running by the third week of May.

And they have more than just event rentals in mind for their new venture. So far, Windstone Entertainment is slated to host the Jefferson City Swing Dance Clubs weekly dance lessons and open dancing on Tuesday nights, along with a country dance on Friday nights. Both events welcome the public, and the bar will be open whenever such events are held.

"It's open right now to what entertainment we want to have," Stone said. "We have been brainstorming, maybe bringing in some karaoke."

Until other entertainment has been scheduled, Windstone will be open only on those week nights, with Saturdays reserved for wedding receptions and parties.

With a large stage already in place for bands and two dance floors, one 2,000 square feet and the other 1,100 square feet, the 12,000-square-foot venue is ready to entertain, with a capacity of up to 400-500 guests.

Its also ready to host community board meetings, with a 1,100-square-foot dedicated small meeting room.

For the time being, all food for events at Windstone Entertainment must be catered.

Stone is no stranger to hosting events. During his two years as a board member for the Eagles Club in Jefferson City, he coordinated hall rentals.

"I knew that this was something that we needed here," he said.

Windstone Entertainment will host a public grand opening with facility tours and drink specials on June 16. The venue will begin taking event reservations this month by phone at 573-636-2850.
