BizBeat: KWOS changes FM frequency

KWOS switched its FM frequency from 101.1 to 104.5 MHz.

The change took effect Monday afternoon, Chief Engineer Steve Morse said, as a way to reduce interference for listeners.

"It basically has the same strength and power and from the same antenna at 101.1, but 104.5 was a little cleaner, a little less-cluttered frequency," he said.

The frequency is an FM translator, a less powerful broadcast transmitter that repeats the signal of the AM station, which is at 950 AM.
