Salute to America is bringing you an entire weekend of live music. With more than 50 different music groups, including 11 national touring artists, Jefferson City will be the place to be for live music this Fourth of July weekend.

Come out Sunday, July 3 and watch the Salute to America parade and get a seat for the free concert on the Capitol lawn. Brought to you by Riley Automotive Group & Midwest Block & Brick, the mainstage in Jefferson City presents Ozark Mountain Daredevils. The American southern rock/country band, described as a "countrified Steely Dan," starts at 8:30 p.m.

On Monday, July 4, Groovethang takes the mainstage starting at 7 p.m. Take your kids and dance your hearts out with this party dance band on the Capitol lawn. At dusk, the band will stop and you will have the perfect view for the Red, White and Boom fireworks show. Make sure to bring some lawn chairs and your dancing shoes as Jefferson City celebrates the Fourth of July.

The Outlaw Country Nation is also hosting live bands this upcoming weekend. Starting Saturday, July 2, the Outlaw Country Concert "Inside the Walls" presents The Shotgun Billys, Jason Bertrand Band, Hillbilly Vegas and Travis Tritt. Located inside the Missouri State Penitentiary, the concert kicks off the start of the Fourth of July weekend at 5 p.m. The series will host nine bands total, with other performances at the Budweiser Beer Garden on July 3 and July 4.

There will also be various performances on the Jefferson City Parks and Rec Extreme Stage in the Machens Adventure Zone, Key Choice Reality Youth Stage & Cole County Historical Society Heritage Stage in the Governor's Gardens and EcoWater Downtown Community stage at Madison.

Kathy Crow, festival chair, explains the two-day event will bring in thousands of people, not just from Missouri. "Every year the foundation tries to make the experience bigger and better and this year will not be any different" Crow says. So don't miss out an opportunity for live music and fun; make plans to come downtown this weekend for entertainment and fireworks.
