Area health care worker admits Medicaid fraud

A health care aide from Camdenton has pleaded guilty to a felony count of Medicaid fraud.
The investigation revealed Lisa Long, 52, fraudulently billed Medicaid for personal care attendant services in 2013 that were not provided because the recipient was incarcerated. The fraud resulted in a $955.71 loss to Missouri's Medicaid program.
Long pleaded guilty to a class C felony; made a payment of $3,000 in restitution, court costs and damages; and will pay $5,131.50 in additional damages and penalties.
Attorney General Chris Koster said Missouri residents should report suspected Medicaid provider fraud or abuse and neglect to his Medicaid Fraud Hotline toll-free at 800-286-3932.
