Russellville High School recently hosted the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers Jefferson City Chapter's 2017 Model Bridge Contest.
Freshman Brandon Zumwalt, who placed first in the competition, is eligible to compete in the International Bridge Building Contest this month in Rockwall, Texas. He is constructing a new bridge to meet the international rules and his bridge will be shipped to the contest to be test its capabilities.
Other Russellville students who placed in the competition include senior Stacia Schollmeyer, second place; freshmen Holly Brennecke and Leah Schollmeyer, third place; sophomore Austin Randolph, fourth place; and freshman Bethany Sheffield, ninth place.
