JC residents arrested in connection with Columbia shooting

Two Jefferson City residents have been taken into custody in connection with the investigation into the shooting of two 35-year-old women in Columbia earlier this month.

A 15-year-old Jefferson City male was referred to the Boone County Juvenile Office on suspicion of hindering prosecution and delinquent behavior in this case after he was taken into custody around 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Capital City.

Alyssa Thorpe, 20, of Jefferson City, was taken into custody Tuesday and later released on a $1,500 bond after authorities picked her up on suspicion of hindering prosecution in connection with the shooting outside the BP Kwik Store at 5701 E. St. Charles Road on the morning of June 18.

The two women injured in the shooting were taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment and later released, Boone County Sheriff's Department reports show.

No one has been charged with the actual shooting of the women, but authorities said it was committed by someone who knew the victims.

Jefferson City police are assisting the Boone County authorities with their investigation.
