Meth bust nets probation time

A Jefferson City woman was placed on five years of supervised probation for pleading guilty to multiple charges following a Mustang drug task force bust in June 2016.

Victoria Petrie, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

The bust occurred at a room at America's Best Value Inn on Jefferson Street, according to the Cole County Sheriff's Department.

Officers found 26 bags of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale. Another bag containing Alprazolam and Clonazepam pills, working digital scales and a large number of bags used for packaging narcotics also were found.

During an interview with authorities, Petrie admitted to selling methamphetamine since February 2016 and also admitted to selling an average of half an ounce of methamphetamine a day.
