Shooting suspect captured in Jefferson City

UPDATE:

Devin McKie, who was wanted by Miller County authorities on suspicion of shooting two people on Friday night, is now in custody, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

On Saturday evening, JCPD received a call about the subject being at Capital Mall. Officers were able to locate McKie in the 200 block of Ventura Avenue and he was taken into custody without incident.

As of Saturday afternoon, Miller County authorities were looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred Friday evening.

According to Sheriff's Department reports, Devin Mckie, 18, from Eldon, is believed to be the prime suspect in this case.

The sheriff's office was notified by officials at Lake Regional Hospital that two people were brought into their facility with gunshot wounds.

Deputies were eventually able to find out that the shooting occurred in the area of VFW Road in Miller County.

Witness statements indicated that a physical altercation between Mckie and the shooting victims occurred and that led to Mckie shooting the victims multiple times. He then fled the area.
