During its annual Heroes Dinner tonight, local Red Cross members will recognize people who responded heroically to someone in critical need.
The American Red Cross Central & Northern Missouri chapter recognizes people in nine categories: community impact, blood services, emergency medical assistance, firefighter, adult good Samaritan, youth good Samaritan, health care professional, law enforcement and military.
Last year, the organization recognized, among others, Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Dave Echternacht, the Central Missouri Honor Flight, DaMia Day, U.S. Army Sgt. Matthew Lewellen, and Dr. Venkataraman Ramachandran and Dr. Abdullah Dalabih.
The dinner is at the Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 W. McCarty St. in Jefferson City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Programs begin at 6:15 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $40.
