Zac Baladenski, of Paris, Missouri, a second-year turf and grounds student at State Technical College of Missouri, will work on the field at Fenway Park in Boston during the 2018 World Series.

A State Technical College of Missouri student is about to fulfill his World Series dream.

Zac Baladenski, of Paris, Missouri, is a second-year turf and grounds student at State Tech who recently completed an internship with the Boston Red Sox, according to a news release from the school.

After the Red Sox clinched their spot in this year's World Series, the team called Baladenski to work during the series, which starts tonight. Baladenski will be in charge of the pitcher's mound during the games at Fenway Park in Boston.

"It's crazy; I would have never thought I would be working on the field for a World Series game, especially taking care of the mound," Baladenski said in the news release. "I mean, that is where everyone is watching for 100 percent of the game."

Baladenski credited the training he received at State Tech for helping him land the internship.

"With State Tech having such a great name, I was lucky enough to get the internship with the Red Sox," he said. "Now I have gotten extra lucky since the Red Sox are going to the World Series."

In February, a 2014 State Tech commercial turf and grounds graduate, Tyler Gosney, worked on the football field during last season's Super Bowl. Gosney works for the Minnesota Vikings.
