Jefferson City man found guilty in drug case

A Jefferson City man has been found guilty of one of three counts in a February drug case.

Cole County Judge Dan Green found Rodney Parham, 25, guilty of possession of cocaine, but not guilty of second-degree drug trafficking and possession of marijuana following a bench trial. Parham is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Parham was taken into custody following a search warrant at his residence in the 1100 block of Adams Street, according to Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements.

In a bag found in the living room, authorities recovered 1 pound of marijuana wrapped in brick-style packaging and a cellphone bag with 41 grams of cocaine.

Inside the trunk of a vehicle parked in front of the residence, authorities found four plastic trash bags containing 91 1-pound, brick-style marijuana packages.

Parham told police he used marijuana and cocaine but had no idea how the marijuana had gotten into the car.
