The Cole County Commission has approved work to begin on two stormwater projects.

Commissioners signed agreements Tuesday for professional engineering services for stormwater improvements at Fairlawn Court/Woodway Court and at Brookview Drive/Gateway Drive.

County Engineer Eric Landwehr said these are two small stormwater projects.

"We'll probably build the one on Fairlawn this year and do an overlay of the road, but Woodway will probably be done next year," Landwehr said. "Brookview/Gateway will likely be built next year unless we have enough funding this year after other projects are complete."

The engineering agreement for Fairlawn/Woodway is $17,013 with CFS Engineers.

Brookview/Gateway is $12,690 with Central Missouri Professional Services. Landwehr said the cost was lower for this project because the county had CMPS do an existing hydraulic analysis last spring, so some of the work is already done.

The funds for the work come from the county's half-cent capital improvements sales tax.
