Suspect at large in Monday night shooting

Michael L. Miller, 27, of Jefferson City, has been charged in Monday night's shooting. 

Miller is not in custody and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Jefferson City Police investigation determined Miller knowingly caused serious injuries to the victim while committing an armed robbery in the 1300 block of Monroe Street. The arrest warrant for Miller is set by the court as no bond.

He is facing charges of robbery, assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a firearm for his role in the shooting that occurred Monday night.

Jefferson City police are investigating a shooting Monday night that left one man injured.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred at approximately 10:44 p.m. in the 1300 block of Monroe Street.

Responding units located a 25-year-old man outside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Columbia hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Witnesses on scene described hearing a disturbance moments before hearing shots being fired. According to witnesses, an unknown man was seen running from the area after the shooting occurred.

Patrol officers canvassed the area looking for the suspect. No other victims were located and the search for the suspect was continuing early Tuesday morning.
