A Jefferson City woman has been charged after hitting an apartment building with her car over the weekend.

Amy Connor, 45, is charged with fourth-degree domestic assault, second-degree property damage and DWI.

The incident occurred Saturday morning after Connor reportedly got into a domestic argument with her boyfriend over text messages she was receiving, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

He left her residence in the 3800 block of Candlelight Drive on foot, and Connor allegedly followed him in her truck.

The man eventually started running, jumped off a retaining wall and ran into a parking lot in the 100 block of Ventura Avenue. Connor allegedly drove the truck off the road, over the retaining wall and into an apartment building.

Authorities believed Connor was trying to run the man over with her truck.
