Two people have been charged after the weekend arrest of a Jefferson City man wanted in a weapons case.

Authorities arrested Arthur Phillips Jr., 26, on Saturday evening at an apartment in the 200 block of West Atchison Street, where the weapons offense occurred Sept. 3.

He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with that incident.

The owner of the apartment where Phillips was found - Sean Shockley, 56 - initially told police Phillips was not in the apartment, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement. But after a search of the apartment, officers found Phillips in Shockley's bathroom and arrested him.

A further search of the apartment allegedly found four bags of marijuana packaged for distribution, along with two digital scales.

Shockley was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The person who shared Shockley's apartment - Crystal Hill, 42 - was reportedly found to have 19 small bags of marijuana packaged for distribution. Hill was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
