6 arrested after Miller County drug bust

Six people from Mid-Missouri were named as having been arrested Thursday and reportedly being held on bond for charges related to drugs after a search of a home by the Miller County Sheriff’s Office and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force.

A residence in Mount Pleasant was searched Thursday evening, according to a news release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, and the search resulted in the seizure of “a large amount of suspected methamphetamine. Heroin, cocaine, prescription pills, a stolen motorcycle, marijuana and an illegal handgun were also seized as a result of the search.”

Katie Croswhite, 34, was being held on $200,000 bond for first-degree trafficking, receiving stolen property and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Croswhite is from Jefferson City, according to the sheriff’s office’s news release, but online court records indicate she is of Versailles.

Croswhite is on supervised probation out of Morgan County, according to the news release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

Online court records for Croswhite’s charges show first-degree drug trafficking is a class A felony; delivery of a controlled substance, a class C felony; and receiving stolen property, a class D felony.

Nathanael O. Davis, 34, was being held on $200,000 bond for first-degree trafficking, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Police said Davis was out on bond for three previous drug cases at the time of his arrest.

Davis is from Versailles, according to the sheriff’s office’s news release, but online court records show he is of Barnett. First-degree drug trafficking is a class A felony; delivery of a controlled substance is a class C felony; and receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm are both class D felonies.

Randy J. Engelage, 37, of Eldon, was being held on $50,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance, according to the sheriff’s office.

Three other people from Eldon were each being held on $25,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance, according to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office’s news release: Reyne D. Bachtel, 38; Kenneth W. Davenport, 32; and Justin R. L. Vaught, 29.

Bachtel and Vaught are on supervised probation out of Miller County, according to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office’s news release.

Online court records did not yet show charges for Engelage, Bachtel, Davenport or Vaught related to this case, as of Saturday afternoon.
