Jefferson City School District Chief Finance and Operations Officer Jason Hoffman was named a 2019 Distinguished Eagle by the Missouri Association of School Business Officials.

Hoffman was recognized by the district Monday at the board of education meeting.

The eagle award is the highest honor in school business recognized across the country, MOASBO Executive Director Kim Cranston said.

Hoffman has been with the district for 14 years. He received the award for showing leadership, commitment to the profession, being a change agent, and going above and beyond, Cranston said.

"We're just delighted that not only has he been recognized in the state of Missouri, but now he has this international award signifying his contribution to the school business official profession," Cranston said.

Other recipients were Terry Haas, Tammie McGarr and Robin Zimmerman.
