I was pleased to read that your photographer, Julie Smith, was named Exceptional Employee during the Chamber of Commerce awards this week. I don't know Ms. Smith personally, but I have seen her at work.
I work at a state agency that sometimes attracts media attention. At work, I have seen her working her camera, catching the story without intervening. She seems to be the consummate professional.
But my fondest memory of Ms. Smith was when she attended the Good Friday Service at my church a couple of years ago. She took photos as we prayed the Stations of the Cross. She did so carefully and reverently. She got the story as if she were invisible. Impressive!
She is a marvelous photographer, and I'm glad the Chamber of Commerce recognized her work.
