Your Opinion: Stop attack ads; address issues

Dear Editor:

Are there any politicians in Missouri who aren't afraid to tell us their positions on issues? It seems that all they can do is put out attack ads about their opposition.

Do their positions on issues depend on their audience? Are none of the candidates pro-abortion? If so, why are they afraid to say so? Do none of them want more restrictions on gun ownership? Why don't they say so?

Has Roy Blunt done nothing worth bragging about during all his years in the Senate? If Jason Kander supports abortion on demand why doesn't he put out an ad so stating? If Kander thinks we need more restrictions on law abiding gun owners then advertise what he would do to us if he is elected? If Kander thinks the federal government should borrow more money, and raise our taxes, to pay for more Obamacare, he should tell all of us how it would be good for our nation.

What a disgusting crop of people we must choose between. At the federal level we must choose between a pompous braggart (I will hold my nose when I cast my vote for him) and a person so stupid that after years as first lady, a senator and secretary of state she can't recognize classified information. In addition her memory is so bad that she can't remember signing documents about the care of classified information. Seriously? The vast majority of us who have had to sign confidentiality and/or non-compete agreements while working for industry didn't forget our responsibilities to protect our employers secrets.
