Your Opinion: View called 'ideologically skewed'

Dear Editor:

In response to a Sept. 20 letter "Gender, culture and leadership," I do not question the fact there are and have been many women who have achieved greatness in many fields of accomplishment. My purpose in writing this letter is not intended in any way to diminish that fact, but to call out Smith for his ideologically skewed view of what determines greatness and accomplishment.

The liberal left, to gain and retain their power, requires the continuous drumbeat of discrimination to instill hatred between groups to "divide and conquer." "Traiano Boccalini cites "divide et impera" in La bilancia politica, 1,136 and 2,225 as a common principle in politics. The use of this technique is meant to empower the sovereign to control subjects, populations, or factions of different interests, who collectively might be able to oppose his rule." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_rule).

The Democrats have used this tactic successfully and the marked success of this concept was the election of Barack Obama who had no credentials whatsoever to be our president other than his being African/American. Our country is suffering greatly because of his incompetence and/or ideology. Clinton is using this tactic also as proven by her defining many of us citizens as a "basket of deplorables."

Smith believes "A woman only loses her womanhood if she undergoes a sex change or loses her capacity to have children through a hysterectomy." To ignore the fact that there are genetic differences between male and female which affect behavior and feelings, which cannot reversed by sex change or hysterectomy, is unbelievable.

Smith states "Angela Merkel is Europe's most powerful politician." I wonder why then she is about to be removed from office? He also belittles Sarah Palin although she was a very successful governor of Alaska. He also fails to mention Margaret Thatcher "a British stateswoman who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher). Apparently Smith believes the only women who can claim any political legitimacy or success are those who are "leftist ideologically acceptable."

Valued accomplishments, honesty, love of country be damned, just be a good bigoted leftist liberal Democrat and you too may be eligible to be coronated queen or king of America.

God save our republic!
