Dear Editor:
We live in an era where we have many worries and big problems. Sometimes, we overlook the good that others do to make our lives and our surroundings happier and better.
I would like to recognize and commend one such group of employees. I'm speaking of our Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department. These folks work extremely hard to make our parks, our pools and our golf course more beautiful, along with the many adult and child activities they create and manage to make our live more fun.
Beyond all of these jobs, they helped our Bittersweet Garden Club create a beautiful entrance to Memorial Park. The tree and shrub removal, the hauling of mulch, and their delivery of some beautiful decorative rocks could not have happened so easily without their courteous and friendly help, not to mention the irrigation that has made our lives immensely easier.
They go beyond the call of duty to help. Our amazing Parks and Recreation Department deserve and big thank you when you see them out working. I know our Bittersweet Garden Club gives them a big pat on the back and a huge thank you!
