Your Opinion: The hypocricy of single-payer advocates

Dear Editor:

I am always fascinated by thought processes of the people who want a single-payer system, basically the government or government-run system. Some of the more interesting comments and letters have to do with comparisons of such things as the police, fire departments and the military. What makes this so interesting is that most of the time it is the same people who are complaining about the same organizations. Take for example the police, when being used as an example for a single-payer system they are a successful government run organization. When they aren't well then they become a racist, murdering out of control evil organization bent on the extermination of innocent people. Where people actively call for the murder of the employees of this government agency and violent riots ensue over their actions. Which of course makes a perfectly awesome example for government run healthcare? How about the military, yes they are a fine well-oiled machine and a successfully run government program, when it is used as an example for healthcare, but it becomes a bloated overly expensive waste of tax payer money who's only purpose is the murdering of innocent children while stealing their countries' oil. MMM was that really another good example of government controlled healthcare? The fire department yes they do an awesome job, wait 80 percent of those are actually volunteer departments, oops. The one thing that is the most fascinating is, they want the same people that they picket, criticize, make fun of, bully, attempt to silence and actively try to get pushed out of office to design, create, implement and run this wonderful healthcare system. I don't know about you but after really listening to 'everything' they say, I'm not so sure this is a good idea. It actually is kind of terrifying.
