Your Opinion: Military deaths merit better play in paper

Dear Editor:

Recently, this paper relegated to Page 6 the killing in Afghanistan of two of this Nation's military men. How can you justify this decision? These are two young men who were doing their duty to our country in the longest war the U.S. has ever been in involved in and a war this nation should have vacated long ago! Each and every death should be first page news, not as an afterthought! In my opinion, at the top, with a running up-to-date count of our military fatalities stemming from this war. In fact, the same should be done with all the conflicts in which the U.S. is involved. The American people have the right to know this truth. Truth is more than ugly regarding this subject, but truth is what both citizens and members of their families deserve.
