Your Opinion: Oak Hills beer sales, operating costs

Dear Editor:

Mr. Richardson you were direct and to the point on beer sales increasing in your article concerning Oak Hills January 7th. Of course you failed to mention that serving alcohol was strictly prohibited when the property was donated. But your information on the cost of running the course was less than straight forward and frankly appeared to be purposely vague. Exactly what does "actual cost recovery of 69.4 percent" mean in dollars and cents?

I like Oak Hills. The course any time I have played (not well) there has always been well maintained, the staff working there polite, friendly and professional. But if the city is competing with private industry with tax dollars at least the public should know what it costs the taxpayers. And who is the Oak Hills Advisory Committee?
