Your Opinion: Response to Gibson

Dear Editor:

I feel it necessary to respond to Sue Gibson's letter. The first paragraph of her letter deserves no comment as her second paragraph says it all. "In reality, abortion is a relatively simple medical procedure that invokes, more than any other emotion, a sense of relief." Relief? Really? Relief for whom? The innocent, living child who was just ripped from the safety of their mother's body? Don't think so. Relief for the mother? I doubt it. Can't believe the mother happily leaves the clinic singing "Oh Happy Day." Can't believe she has no remorse. Can't believe she doesn't have feelings of sorrow. The mothers who choose abortion have been sold a bill of goods. Forgiveness is available from God if one asks. Will those responsible for this heinous procedure ever be able to forgive themselves? If they are unable to do so, there is no "sense of relief."

With regard to pro-life groups, they are just as dedicated to preserving life as the pro-abortion groups are to taking life. It is my understanding the "religious" groups mentioned would have been excommunicated for their misguided beliefs.

If anyone should be shamed, it should be those adamantly promoting a feminist, self-serving lifestyle which more often than not results in disease, misery and dead babies.
