Your Opinion: Both lawmakers should be ousted

Dear Editor:

Regarding the ousting of Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal and Rep. Warren Love, am I to understand there is hesitation? Both posted Facebook remarks wishing death on others! Chappelle-Nadal post stated she "wished President Donald Trump would be assassinated." Rep. Love's post suggested those that had vandalized a monument in a Springfield cemetery should be hanged "from a tall tree with a long rope." Are these printed social remarks that can be tolerated from citizen-elected state leaders? I think not. Their position of leadership does not give them leave to lower themselves to commit such acts. Both should be "ousted." If they are not, my concern is a precedent may have been set to possibly allow more egregious statements to be made in the future. This behavior must stop somewhere, sometime and I strongly believe it should be now!
