Your Opinion: The ugly side of capitalism

Dear Editor:

Ever listen to Richard Wolff on KOPN? He is an economist. I agree with Richard. In 2008, capitalism almost collapsed. They (the government) let big business do whatever they wanted, deregulate, make bad investments to get rich quick. Small government, they said.

Then 2008 came along, boom! Then the capitalists wanted help, save us! Help from who, the government! Capitalism was going down the tubes again. Millions of us taxpayers bailed them out, and millions lost their jobs too, massive layoffs. Same old, same old.

Now the capitalists cry "stop socialism!" Trump will make us great again. Adolf Hitler said the same thing about Germany.

Now it is nationalism, America first! It appears to me Trump's nationalism is a form of fascism and racism. It's supposidely the cure for failing capitalism.

They will even use religion, Christianity, to save the rich capitalist elites. Nobody wants communism. Republicans try and link socialist-communism with fairness for the working taxpayer. People want justice, fairness.

The capitalists will use anything to save themselves: war, scapegoats, globalism, even the Christian faith. Now they are making their robots and other artificial intelligence.

There are better ways for sure. At the core, we are fighting greed.

You have a billionaire at a board meeting in New York and a starving refugee in Somalia.
