Blue Tiger softball blanked in DH sweep vs. Jennies

The Lincoln softball team was held to four hits total Friday, dropping both games of a doubleheader to Central Missouri by scores of 9-0 in six innings at LU Softball Field.

In Game 1, Camryn Pryor had a leadoff single in the bottom of the third inning, while Tori Nienhueser added a single to open the bottom of the fourth for the Blue Tigers' two hits.

Central Missouri, which led 1-0 after one inning, scored three times in the second and fourth innings before putting the game away by run rule with two more runs in the sixth.

Madison Ragar took the loss for Lincoln, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits with two walks and one strikeout in 3 innings. Alyssa Schulte pitched the final 2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks.

The Jennies plated five runs in the third inning in Game 2, adding another run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

Chelsey Kerr singled with one out in the fifth inning and Rachael Balke added a leadoff single in the sixth for Lincoln's two hits.

Delayne Patton pitched a complete game in a losing effort for the Blue Tigers. She allowed nine runs (five earned) on nine hits and two walks in six innings.

Lincoln (5-41, 0-24 MIAA) finishes the regular season today with a home doubleheader against Southwest Baptist. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
