Lincoln men beat Quincy 81-66

QUINCY, Ill. - A balanced scoring effort led the Lincoln Blue Tigers to an 81-66 win Saturday against the Quincy Hawks in the QU Subway Holiday Classic.

The Blue Tigers finished with five players in double figures, with Terrance Smith leading the way with 22 points.

Jonell Burton added 14, while Amariontez Ivory and John Burton totaled 12 points each. Grant Olsson chipped in with 10.

Lincoln never trailed in the game, scoring the first five points. A jumper by Olsson at the 16:48 mark gave Lincoln its first double-digit lead at 15-5.

The Hawks got no closer than seven the remainder of the first half, that coming in the final minute at 43-36. Olsson closed the first-half scoring with a 3-pointer to push Lincoln's lead to 46-36 at intermission.

A 3-pointer by Jonell Burton gave Lincoln a 17-point lead at 70-53 midway through the second half. The Blue Tigers' largest lead was 19 at 81-62 on a layup by Ni'Sean Rigmaiden with a little less than two minutes to play.

Rigmaiden finished with a career-high 11 assists for the Blue Tigers.

Marcus Hinton and Demetrius Houston had 15 points each for Quincy (5-4).

Lincoln (6-3) will face McKendree at 1 p.m. today in the Classic.
