College Volleyball: Haslag named MVC player of the week

PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley senior outside hitter Erica Haslag was selected as the Missouri Valley Conference volleyball player of the week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Haslag (Helias High School) was also named MVP of the CEFCU Classic, helping the Braves to a 3-0 record Friday and Saturday.

Haslag recorded a season-high 27 kills Saturday in Bradley's 25-17, 25-20, 24-26, 22-25, 15-10 win against Omaha, posting a .431 hitting percentage. She also had three total blocks.

In the Braves' 25-16, 25-20, 25-14 win Saturday against Milwaukee, Haslag finished with a match-high 13 kills.

In Friday's 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 win against Eastern Illinois, Haslag had six kills.

Through 12 matches, Haslag leads the Braves with 170 kills, ranking fourth in the conference in that category.

This is the second time in her career Haslag has received the MVC's weekly volleyball honor.

Bradley (10-2) opens conference play Friday at Southern Illinois.
