Lincoln men look to extend streak tonight vs. Central Missouri

The Lincoln Blue Tigers look to extend their winning streak to eight games tonight when they take on the Central Missouri Mules in Warrensburg.

Start time for the Blue Tigers (11-3 overall, 4-1 MIAA) and the Mules (9-6, 2-4) is 7:30 p.m.

This is Lincoln's longest winning streak since the 1992-93 season. The Blue Tigers, who are receiving votes in the Division II national poll, are looking to win eight straight for the first time since they had a 12-game streak in the 1980-81 season.

Terrance Smith leads the Blue Tigers in scoring (18.1) and rebounding (7.1) heading into tonight's contest. Four other Blue Tigers are averaging in double figures - Amariontez Ivory (13.6), Jonell Burton (13.1), Ni'Sean Rigmaiden (12.3) and Grant Olsson (10.1). Rigmaiden also tops the Blue Tigers with 4.6 assists per game.

Central Missouri will bring a two-game losing streak into tonight's game, dropping road contests last week at Missouri Southern (65-55) and Pittsburg State (78-69.

The Mules are 8-0 at home this season.

Jafar Kinsey paces Central Missouri in scoring at 13.8 points per game. Jakob Lowrance is next at 12.1, with Blake Spellman totaling 11.1 per game.

Lincoln and Central Missouri split a pair of games last season, both winning at home.

The women's game between Lincoln and Central Missouri will start the action at 5:30 p.m.

Lincoln will bring a 9-5 overall record into the game, 1-4 in the MIAA.

The Jennies, the defending NCAA Division II national champions, are 10-4 and 3-3.

Zoi Thompson paces the Blue Tigers at 16.6 points per game, Zhanesha Dickerson is averaging 15.6 points and 8.9 rebounds for the Blue Tigers, while Bre Coleman is at 13.3 points per contest.

Paige Redmond leads the Jennies in scoring at 17.3 points per game. Morgan Fleming is next at 13.6, while Megan Skaggs is close behind at 13.4.

The Jennies have won four straight against Lincoln and 55 of the 58 games in the series between the two schools.
