Girls Basketball: Helias 56, Sullivan 54

SULLIVAN, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders scored nearly half their points off turnovers and prevailed in a back-and-forth battle against the Sullivan Lady Eagles, winning 56-54 on Wednesday in the Sullivan Holiday Classic.

Helias led 11-9 after the first quarter and 22-19 at halftime, but trailed 39-38 heading to the fourth quarter.

Kylie Bernskoetter led a trio of double-digit scorers for the Lady Crusaders with 16 points. Lindsey Byers and Lainy Lamb scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Lady Crusaders scored 25 points off 21 Sullivan turnovers in a game that featured 14 lead changes and six ties.

Helias (6-0) will face Borgia at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the championship game.
