The Jefferson City Lady Jays defeated the Helias Lady Crusaders 7-2 in a dual at the Crusader Athletic Complex.
Jefferson City won two of the three doubles matches - Sandhiya Baskar and Bailey Higgins defeated Martina Lorang and Jessica Cowley 8-2, while Sudhi Kumar and Jaden Harper beat Sommer Kolb and Sage Bentlage 8-1. The Helias team of Catherine Conley and Mya Bremer won 8-6 against Akhi Donthireddy and Madelyn Becker.
Winning in singles for the Lady Jays were Baskar (6-0, 5-7, 10-1 tiebreaker) against Conley; Donthireddy (6-1, 6-0) against Lorang; Higgins (6-2, 6-1) against Cowley; Becker (8-3) against Bremer; and Harper (6-0, 6-1) against Kolb. Ellen Gallaher of Helias defeated Kumar (6-2, 6-3).
Jefferson City (14-2) will host Rock Bridge at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Helias (7-5) will host School of the Osage today.
