Prep Football: Helias JV, frosh win

COLUMBIA - The Helias Crusaders swept a football doubleheader Tuesday, as the JV team defeated Hickman 47-6 and the freshman team won 16-0 in two quarters against the Kewpies.

Zach Wolken had a 1-yard touchdown run in the JV game and also threw two TD passes, a 56-yard strike to Will Herrbold and a 6-yarder to Ryan Klahr.

Klahr also had a 14-yard touchdown run and Corbin Fisher scored on a 17-yard run.

Other scoring from the Crusaders came on a 48-yard pass from Tyler Sandbothe to Harrison Miller and a 19-yard pass from Drew Miller to Nate Roark.

Both touchdowns in the freshman game were passing touchdowns for the Crusaders. Caydin Engelbrecht connected on a 19-yard pass to Trey Bexten, then found Dalton Scheulen on the receiving end of a 17-yard pass for another score.

The Helias JV hosts Vianney at 5 p.m. Monday, while the freshman team hosts Centralia at 6 p.m. next Thursday.
