Girls Basketball: Bunceton 46, Chamois 40

PILOT GROVE - The Chamois Lady Pirates rallied in the third quarter, but the Bunceton Lady Dragons battled back in the fourth quarter Monday of a 46-40 win in the first round of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.

Chamois trailed 11-4 after one quarter and 26-20 at halftime. However, the Lady Pirates outscored the Lady Dragons 12-3 in the third quarter to take a 32-29 lead.

In the fourth, Bunceton, the No. 5 seed, won the scoring battle 17-8 to pull out the win and keep its season alive.

Katie Keilholz led the fourth-seeded Lady Pirates with 16 points, while Makenna Wuelling finished with 12 points. Alexis Slusser also reached double figures with 11 points.

Chamois ends the season with a 9-15 record.
